Kasuf
Kasuf was first among the elders of Abydos and the leader of his people, the citizens of the city of Nagada. He had a daughter, Sha're (also spelled Sha'uri) and a younger son, Skaara. When Jack O'Neil's team from Earth, first visited Abydos, he took them to be gods or god-like, and he welcomed them. He offered the team's translator, Daniel Jackson his daughter as wife. Daniel was pretty much unaware of exactly what was transpiring, and it was many days before he found out he was married. As the visit wore on, the team made it clear to Kasuf that they were humans just like him, but he found they were friendly ones worth the efforts he went to to welcome them. When Ra returned to Abydos and attacked Kasuf's people, Kasuf's initial reaction was to appease Ra. However, when the young men of his village defied Ra under the leadership of Skaara, Kasuf led the older of his people to swell the ranks of the rebels, saving the day.

Kasuf proved to be a good father-in-law to Daniel for over a year until Sha're and Skaara were kidnapped away from Abydos, and Daniel left the planet in pursuit. Kasuf followed Daniel's instruction and unburied the stargate one Abydonian year after Daniel left. Before Daniel returned Sha're returned, now pregnant and inhabited by the dormant goa'uld, Amonet. Though Kasuf understood little of what was going on, he was not stupid, and Daniel was able to explain the circumstances. When both Amonet/Sha're and Daniel left (separately), Kasuf took Sha're's newborn child and secreted him away at the instruction of Daniel.

A year later, Kasuf and some Abydonians were captured by Amonet, seeking her host's child. Troops from the SGC rescued them, and in the resulting conflict, Kasuf's daughter was killed.

Years later, the goa'uld Anubis destroyed the surface of Abydos near the stargate, including the city of Nagada. Presumably, Kasuf was helped by Oma Descala to ascend to a higher plane of existence, along with the other Abydonians.
