After four seasons of "will they" or "won't they," Richard Castle and Kate Beckett finally gave in to their feelings for each other in the much anticipated Season 4 finale.
Season 5 picks up on the proverbial morning after, with Castle and Beckett facing new questions -- Was this a one-time fling, or are they now a couple? But before they find the answers, they must take on the forces responsible for Beckett's mother's murder that now threaten Kate Beckett's life.

Trivia--This is the first time Tamala Jones, who plays Lanie Parish, doesn't appear in the season premiere since Castle began.
Goof--We only ever see one Ryan taking one photograph of the young Mr. Smith out of the file folder to show Beckett, yet the photo we see Ryan taking out of the folder and the photo we see Castle and Beckett discussing moments later are not the same photo. The two photos used are of different men with very different hair styles in similar clothing and similar but opposite poses. The man in the picture Ryan pulls from the file is facing left (right side towards the camera) and holding a wine glass in his right hand, while in the other picture, the man is facing right (left side towards the camera) and is holding a champagne flute in his left hand.
There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people. Psychopaths and mystery writers. I'm the kind that pays better. Who am I? I'm Rick Castle. Every writer needs inspiration. And I found mine. And thanks to my friendship with the mayor, I get to follow her around. And together we catch killers.
