When he is knocked unconscious while trying to stop a crooked construction foreman from causing a building collapse, Gary winds up back in the 1800s, where he faces the specter of another tragedy - the legendary Chicago fire.
Meanwhile; he is determined to prevent history from repeating itself, Gary gets detained when he decides to help a young boy and his sister - who bears a striking resemblance to Marissa. Ultimately, Gary's actions have an effect on the present day disaster.
