With their Transport Pod damaged, Crichton, Chiana, D'Argo and Jool are forced to land on an old, diseased Leviathan in a Peacekeeper Control Collar.

Their fears of running into Peacekeepers aboard the ship are soon replaced by terrifyingly real foes: mutant scavengers who are feeding on each other, the Leviathan's Pilot, and the Leviathan itself... and Kaarvok, a madman with an horrific taste for brain matter.

original airdate--April 20,2001                          rating--1.4 million

music--Theme song--"Farscape theme song" by Guy Gross

Factoid--Ian Watson wanted the characters to deteriorate as the episode wore on, so he worked up four different levels of makeup for the principal cast.

  • Kaarvok was originally going to be created with a combination of makeup and animatronics with his eyes on stalks and wearing a form of straitjacket. This was changed after Shane Briant was cast.
  • Anthony Simcoe's normal replacement was not happy to hear that on his day off, his replacement had to rehearse the scenes where D'Argo is sexually molested by one of the Xarai.

"My name is John Crichton...an astronaut...radiation leak...I got shot up...I was lost in some distant part of the universe...on a ship full of strange alien life forms...listen please...can anyone out there hear me...Mayday...by insane military commander...I can't...I'm just looking for a way home."
