Flashback: Michael Dawson

Trivia--The World Trade Center Twin Towers can be seen out of the window of the office in Michael's first flashback.

Goofs: Just before Michael says "You're going to pull the bullet out with your bare hands?", Sawyer's hair is very wet and pulled back, as if it were in a pony tail. When the camera switches back to Sawyer saying "You got a better idea?" his hair is a lot drier and covering his face. In the next shot, it is pulled back again.

  • Seeing as Jin dived in right after Sawyer, to save him, when Sawyer came up Jin should have been right next to him, or at least in view. However Sawyer hears Jin's voice as if he is miles away when he surfaces, and he is not visible at all.
  • In the scene with Sawyer and Michael drifting on the pontoon, where Michael is crying, you briefly see a boat with a mast in the background in one shot over Sawyer's right shoulder as he faces the screen, just before he says "Are you allright Mike?".
  • When Mike and Sawyer climb onto the pontoon (after Mike shoots the shark) there is a long wooden beam protruding to the left of the pontoon. In the next shot (morning, where Mike is crying) the beam protrudes the other way.
  • On the raft, Sawyer's hair is either tied back in a slick pony tail (close-up) or dangling in wet licks around his face (long shot).

Trivia: In this episode, Michael buys little Walt a present: a white polar bear toy. In first season episode 14 "Special" Walt is attacked by a polar bear.

  • When Saywer and Michael are on the remains of the raft the shark swimming around has a Dharma Initiative logo on its tail.
  • The World Trade Centre towers were digitally re-added in this episode to show the pre-2001 time-line setting.
