Vala’s father, Jacek, contacts Stargate Command wishing to trade information about a series of planned attacks on Earth in exchange for sanctuary on the planet. Once safe, Jacek reverts to his scheming ways and he is later found to be associating with one of Arkad’s Jaffa splinter cells. When challenged on his motives, Jacek once again manages to persuade the Stargate team that he has vital information for them. Was Vala right all along? Can her father really be trusted?

Goof--At the end, Carter brings a bottle of wine and glasses into Vala's room. She sets a screw top bottle of wine at the foot of the bed, and when the camera is focused on Vala, the sound of a cork being worked out of the bottle can be heard.

• Coincidentally, Ben Browder and Claudia Black previously appeared in a Farscape episode of the same name: "Farscape" (1999) {Family Ties (#1.22)}.
• A few lines of dialogue are a veiled reference to the shows cancellation by the network. Mitchell's opening line is "hey cancelled it? Really? I didn't even know the new season had started."
