Commanding the newly-commissioned Enterprise-E, Captain Jean-Luc Picard defies orders and assists in a vicious battle between Federation forces and a Borg cube. Travelling back in time, the Borg attempt to destroy the future Federation by preventing Zephram Cochrane developing his revolutionary warp-drive technology and taking his maiden voyage. The voyage that ultimately resulted in humankind's first contact with an alien race.
