With Scully reassigned to the Quantico training acedemy, Doggett and Reyes investigate their first X-File together -- a series of satanic ritual murders whose victims may include the agents themselves.

music--theme song "X-Files" by Mark Snow"

Goofs:Doggett suggests to Reyes the killer might use human flesh to fertilise his garden - an in-joke referencing the movie The Last Supper (1995/I), which starred Annabeth Gish.

Trivia: series co-star Robert Patrick had issues remembering and delivering his lines due to the theme of demonic possession, which reportedly "was freaking" him out. He later explained, "It was the first time that I couldn't do my lines. Usually I would show up, and they'd always put the camera on me first [but this time] I couldn't do it."

Easter-egg: the credits were revised for the series in season 9. Of the various images that now pass by, one is a typed report of a list of names. This is a list of the online nicknames of some of the most active fans who have posted from the X-Files web site. The list changes in the credits for each season 9 episode.
