Kara desperately wants to make friends and fit in on Earth, but Clark tells her to keep a low profile until she can get her powers under control. Despite his warnings, when the "Miss Sweet Corn" beauty pageant comes around, Kara signs up and meets the competition – Tyler, Carly and Tempest – three meteor-infected vixens who plan to use their powers to steal a treasure map to the hidden Smallville time capsule. After Tyler witnesses Kara using her powers, the girls pretend to be her friends, but are really planning to use her for their devious plan.

Antagonist: Weather Girls

Trivia: Kara and Jimmy's mutual attraction reflects a similar flirtation between Supergirl and Jimmy in Silver Age comic books. That flirtation culminated in an "imaginary story" (the term used to describe a comics story that wasn't a part of the main comics' continuity) where Jimmy and Kara were married.

  • Grant warns Lois that the Daily Planet will not pay for a Judas Priest concert (an eighties heavy metal band) in Madison Square Garden, the famed massive arena in Manhattan, New York City.
  • Tyler, one of the Weather girls, was played by the winner of the third season of America's Next Top Model: Eva Pigford.
  • This is the first time to feature a Smallville Sheriff in the final cut since the death of Sheriff Nancy Adams in the Season 5's Lockdown.
