Earth and the Earth colonies are run by a powerful and corrupt Federation, which uses sedative drugs and fear to control its populace. A small group of rebels on board the starship Liberator, led by Roj Blake, fight to overthrow the Federation. They face the constant threat of the powerful Federation, and their mortal enemy, Servalan.
