Star Trek: Deep Space Nine tells the story of a group of intrepid Starfleet Officers posted to the remote station Deep Space Nine. Located near the planet Bajor, a world of spirituality and mysticism, the Federation crew walk a fine line between safeguarding Earth's interests, and aiding the Bajorans in gaining entry to the Federation.
Formerly a mining installation named Terok Nor during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, the station has become the focus of interstellar trade due to the discovery of an articicially-created stable wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant. A boon to trade and exploration, the wormhole may also pose the biggest threat to Alpha Quadrant security - for a powerful and territorial enemy controls much of the Gamma Quadrant - the Dominion.
