The U.S.S. Voyager, a newly commissioned Federation starship, is sent out under the command of Captain Catherine Janeway to find a missing Maquis vessel containing an undercover Starfleet operative. During their search they are transported 70,000 light years from home, to the Delta Quadrant, by an entity known as The Caretaker.
Upon finding the Maquis ship, which suffered the same fate as Voyager, the two crews are forced to join together to find their way home. But travelling through uncharted areas of space, engaging previously unknown alien races, and facing some more familiar, and deadly, threats such as the Borg, may prove a task too great for the new crew.
